I wish there were more of these because wow was this enjoyable! Gabby Rivera's writing paired with the work of so many amazing artists creates such a wonderful and vibrant story. I love the idea of an evil dean of the university who is secretly a villain and also adored the exploration of America's homeworld, her mothers' pasts and her grandmother's backstory.

America Chavez is a great character and Fast and the Fuertona is full of action. America learning her own origin story gives her the strength to fight off enemies. She has found family and also finds her real family. There’s pertinent messaging for young readers within an entertaining story.

I like this even more than the first one! I really felt like I got a better sense of the world, and I liked seeing America grow from volume 1 to 2. Wish this was ongoing.

It’s got some great moments and some beautiful art, but the meat of the book is a mediocre story featuring C-list Marvel Villain Dominatrix. Less of that and more lesbian creation myths, please.

It's a rare occasion I actually read a Marvel or DC comic. Not big on superheroes. America was for me and I am sad to see it go. I didn't find out about it in time to subscribe and since I returned to comics in my mid-adulthood, it's one of only two superhero comics I read.
It had the potential to embody all stories of so many people. In it's two volumes it did a good job at trying to tell new stories about people whose journey is outside the scripted, boring 12 Step journey so oft repeated.
Oh well. Thanks for all the fish, Gabby. Look forward to what comes next.

I enjoyed this one more than Vol. 1! We really get a sense of America’s ancestral powers and learn more about her mothers. Her friends are also badass and it’s so nice to see groups coming together to fight a villain. The Jen Bartel art pages were easily my favorite.

Maybe it's been too long since I read volume 1, but this just didn't feel as coherent as it should have? Still love America though.
