Omg 😭😭😭😡😡😡😡😡 these are the only two emojis that can explain my thoughts right now..... the fact that this was written by a teenager and captures the feeling of not seeing the world for two years and changing as a person and trying to fit in but still herself in a world full of destruction and on top of that staying strong and hopeful is just beyond inspiring. This book will make you look at many things in life differently and most importantly the power of freedom that is taken for granted. You realize that freedom is one of humanity's most prized possessions and not all people had a taste of sweet freedom in history. You see Anne grow as a person in this book and you can see the difference from reading her first entries and her last owns before she dies. Stars cannot shine without darkness and Anne frank showed the world that it is possible to have hope and courage in the worst moments of our life and it's not okay to give up just because it is a easy thing to do and happiness needs to be earned you can't be given happiness. This book is a true piece of art that will remain as one as long as our world exists because it shows the point of view of a teenager during a destructive and terrible war and that war is difficult for everybody no matter their age. It is a mere fact that the world has lost a GREAT writer who could have dug deep into the problems of humanity and just life in general her writing is so true so real that it makes you feel things every sentence she writes. Rip to Anne frank and everybody who helped hide the freaks and van daans. They are heroes that will never be forgotten and are examples that lift exists in darkness even if it seems impossible. This book will forever stay with me and hopefully everybody gets a chance to read this eye opener.

Hartverscheurend.

I will refrain from rating this book, as a diary it's just too personal to be rated.
I have experienced different emotions reading this book. At the very beginning it was difficult to read it without crying as I knew how the story ended. Then when I finally managed to forget and concentrated on Anne's careless life as a teenage girl, it came almost as a shock when they were forced into hiding and had to leave everything behind. The next thing that surprised me was Anne's personality. I didn't expect her to be so rebellious but also so unusually observant and mature for her age. But I have to admit there was a moment when I got bored with the book and seriously considered leaving it unfinished but I am so happy I didn't because I could experience Anne's beautiful love story. I can't stop thinking of what it was like for all of them to get discovered, arrested, sent to Auschwitz, seperated. I do hope she got on well with Margot in the last months. I do wish she had been able to fulfill her dream and become a journalist and/or writer...
Ps: I didn't appreciate the Polish translation of the book.

A chilling diary of a girl and her family who were living in hiding during World War II. Her entries were sweet and very relatable. Such a strong and unfortunate situation Anne Frank and her family and friends had to live through. Another book that I think everyone should read just once.

I thought it was great! so inspirational and you really get to look at the holocaust ina different perspective, usually you only read it as when people are in it so it was interesting to see it though the eyes of someone hiding.
