This was tricky to rate. I like the story and think that a lot is well written and engaging. But I personally have trouble staying engaged through descriptions of landscape and travel (just a me thing) which there was a fair bit of. 
I really like Tom Bombadil and all the fellowship, though I felt like once the fellowship is formed, Merry and Pippin fade into the background a bit. Would like to have heard more from them. 
Definitely an enjoyable listen and keen for the next one.
