With a heated election on the horizon, who will take up the mantle of Nexus - The Loomis sisters or Stanislaus Korivisky?
The fifth Nexus Omnibus is kind of a letdown. The omnibus collects Nexus #53-65 and Next Nexus #2-4. Of those, I think Steve Rude drew three issues. Aside from a couple Paul Smith issues, the rest are fill-in artists of varying quality.
The stories are good, though. Ylum is in the midst of a heated election and Horatio Hellpop has forsaken his role as The Merk's servant and executioner of mass murderers. The Loomis sisters are wearing Nexus gear but the Merk isn't quite behind them yet and is taking other applicants. Vooper and Honest Crocus are in the middle of a trade war but that's mostly in the background.
That's really about all I have to say. The art is way below Steve Rude's level on a lot of the issues. I'm hoping Steve is back for the next omnibus but I'm not holding my breath. Still, I need to see what's next for Horatio Hellpop so I'll be getting the next omnibus eventually.
