Long but breezy. This is at least 2 or 3 novels in one. Our titular musketeers aren’t all that smart but they are brave and that’s what matters. Even when a little bit of forethought would forestall great danger.

Simply the best classic author I’ve ever read. His flow is much easier to read then other classic authors like James F. Cooper. This story has multiple protagonists that you love and loathe for different reasons. d’Artnen for example is brave and chivalrous but any girl he sees he falls in love with no matter how vile the creature may be *cough* cough* Milady, or should I say Anne de Breuil. Milady just might be one of the best antagonists that has ever been written in classical literature. Bravo Monsieur Dumas!

Intrigue! Adventure! Love, Honor, Duels! What more can you want? Definitely a new favourite for my shelf.

Absolutely brilliant, every character is interesting and unique, morally grey, and often times loveable and charming. I got to say, Milady was kind of justified after what d'Artagnan did, only she should have taken revenge solely on him.

A little baffling: Everyone (on the level of the musketeers) is just sort of... okay with infidelity? Also strange, how Athos immediately is like "yep, let's kill her" right after seeing the fleur-de-lis. Really, no second thoughts? That man is crazy.

Having read several classics, this is the most anachronistic (and absurd) thing I ever read in terms of character's behaviour. I could not feel with them at all, while they made stupid decision after stupid decision. I don't feel there is any character evelopment, just a few revelations and honers. I honestly just wanted to made it through.

The narrator was quite good though, but read me to sleep often because the story was so boring. Nothing has put me to sleep that well since trying to listen to the bible.

Surprisingly funny, but it was very slow going at the beginning.
