Rho haas fallen and rose between thesr pages, yet she faces many hard choices. Even though she wants to think of herself and the life she wants or had, Rho is aware she must pit the Zodiac first to be able to have those moments.

The only thing that I disliked was the love-triangle (although I did dislike it a lot). The found-family between the characters and the perspectives on grief, leadership, unity, and belonging were all highlights, for sure. There were a lot of times where I wanted to hate Rho, but if I were in her shoes I’d be making the same mistakes or worse, and she has grown a lot since the previous book. The world-building continues to be beyond incredible (it’s by far the best part of the book) and the plot was very engaging.
This book definitely made me feel…whether it was annoyance, shock, that good-romance-line feeling, you name it, I felt it and probably had to close the book in order to cope.
Similar to the first book, this one reminded me a lot of Shadow and Bone, Divergent, and The Hunger Games in terms of the plot and the characters. (Also, Hysan is so much like Nikolai Lantsov!)

Incredible second book to the series! The story’s pace picked up quickly as well. It got so intense once Rho and the gang went off to find the master. The Marad group are insane... I did not expect them to be at the level they are. You clearly can see they mean business in their horrific and violent ways. I’m nervous to see where the plot with them goes.

I was so happy and not surprised when we learned Mathias lived. I knew his story could not just end the way it did. My heart broke for him seeing how broke he was after what he endured being held captive by the Marad.

I still can’t get over how amazing the use of the Zodiac signs are for this story! Romina Russell truly has so far done an amazing job bringing the traits of the Zodiacs to life through their people and respective homeworlds.

While Zodiac focuses on Rho trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and step into a role she was not ready for. Wandering Star focuses on her growth. All through out it seems like she is still not ready for a guardianship role she, but she is still the leader the Zodiac needs. She is a free spirited Cancer, but she has to follow the rules now bestowed on her when she accepts the role of “Wandering Star.” I was not ready for the plot twists this story held. This is an amazing story about growth, trusting your instincts, love, lost, and every now and then breaking the taboo.

Really enjoyed the sequel to this creative and character driven series! The plot was more complex, the character development was more substantial, the twists were mind-blowing, and the world building and lore continued to be fascinating.

I loved seeing more of the worlds in this universe and felt it grow for the audience. I hope to learn more about it in future books. That said, I was under no illusions that this was a story about struggles through tragedy and finding yourself. This was best shown through certain twists that really surprised me and through Rho herself. I grew to respect her a lot more in this book, and felt she matured and became even easier to relate to. I was also more than happy to see more of Hysan and Nishi, and I also learned more about Rho's family.

There are some new characters introduced who could make for compelling story arcs, and several familiar faces returned to the forefront. That said, there was one element to the story that, while it was a truly unexpected twist, does not seem to have an affect on the current storyline save for creating more unneeded drama.

With that one nitpick aside, there are some truly excellent scenes in here. There was a moment with Rho and her brother that truly pulled on my heartstrings, as well as a few moments with Nishi that made me want to give the girl a giant hug.

This has been a great book so far and given the way things ended, I am truly looking forward to seeing where these complex characters go next.
