I am really loving how fleshed out Kim’s character is in the books, and i am ALL FOR her and Ramona’s friendship! Because of course they would be friends!
Hooray! Scott Pilgrim never fails to make me laugh & remind me of those wonderful rambling confusing years of the early 20s.

The 5th volume is a tad more serious (although there are still a ridiculous amount of comic OTT scenes) - Scott and Ramona are experiencing "difficulties" in their relationship since Ramona finds out that Scott cheated on her with Knives (although technically, it was the other way round - SP logic) and Gideon Graves appears on the scene.
Ramona also has insecurity issues - we see this via her conscious decision to grow her hair long like Envy Adams (Scott's ex) and her shock when she discovers he spent the night at Kim's (sleeping on the sofa). This exploration of her character makes her seem more human and fleshed out (previously she has just been a girl with a hell of a lot of evil ex-boyfriends on the scene) but now we see her as insecure and vulnerable - perhaps explaining why she latches on to the first guy she likes.
This time, Scott has to face the Katayanagi twins and gets his ass kicked a serious amount of times!! The twins are pretty cute and fun with their sharp one-liners but they didn't really stand out to me as serious villains...unlike Gideon! *hides*
Things are also going from bad to worse with Sex Bob-omb (they're not playing any shows and their recording sessions are really just left to Stephen Stills and Joseph).
Oh...and then Ramona disappears (literally) and Scott is left on his own with Gideon (Ramona's cat - possibly some symbolism behind that name and the connection) and he has to crash at various friends' houses. Then Kim Pine leaves and goes back home to her parents and everything is just really sad and shitty in Scott's world :(
So, there's lots to be explored in the final volume and I cannot wait to discover whether Scott and Ramona will get together and this time stay together, and I hope he kicks Gideon's scrawny ass back into subspace!
Impressive amount of lore reveals and lore withholdings in this penultimate book in the series. This series is so good.

Scott Pilgrim: Rating: Awesome. It continues, and this volume captures emotion more powerful than the movie reaches.

I'm really looking forward to the end. I'm really intrigued about Ramona
I got a little confused on which blonde was which with Ramona's hair changing (and me super not paying attention to hair). It made for confusion when Scott was spending the night at Kim's.
But: loved the robots, loved the twins, and want to have the Ramona/Gideon situation wrapped up with maximum explanation. On to #6!
