Definitely another favorite of the series. Scott and Ramona's relationship developed so well; the growing tension and inevitable breaking point was communicated excellently through the art style and character design (particularly Ramona's, which becomes strikingly different from earlier volumes as her hair, weight, and clothes change to reflect a deepening internal conflict).

The best part is that everything happening has a clear "cause," but it doesn't play out easily or predictably. The early act of Scott cheating on Knives with Ramona results in consequences in this volume, but Ramona's own secrets - and her past (and perhaps current??) - actions lend a fantastic level of depth to the narrative. As before, the pace with which O'Malley rolls out his secrets makes me eager to continue.
