I was this far into the series so I felt like I had to keep going.

The twins are the villains in this installment, but really, the story's shift from action to romance is significant here. This one didn't do much for me, feeling a bit more like a soap opera than before.

The last time we visited our favorite Canadian Hipster doofus, he was getting in deep with Ramona Flowers, she of the seven evil exes. So deep that the couple has shacked up. What? Our favorite slacker has gotten a job and a live-in girlfriend? How can this be.

Alas, it is s. But no need to worry the Scott Pilgrim manages to make becoming a grown up totally awesome.

Volume five opens with Scott’s birthday party where he proclaims he’s going to be the best 24-year-old ever. But being 24 isn’t proving too easy for Scott. Two of Ramona’s evil-exes are back and they brought robots.

ROBOTS!

Not going to lie, I didn't really like this volume, like at all. I really don't like the fact that Ramona just left. Like after everything that Scott has done for her, and defeating all her exes, she just leaves. I also didn't realize that those lines around her head were meant to represent her head glowing, I thought it was similar to an anime thing as like that would be surprised. Sorry if that's confusing. I also didn't like that out of the whole series there weren't any signs that Kim may still have had feelings for Scott up until this last volume which came out of nowhere and then she just leaves right after too. Like what the hell? Both of them are leaving now?

I also don't get why Scott kept defeating the robots either, when all he needed to do was defeat the twins. Though I do like the awkward bond they developed over Ramona. That was funny, and again really awkward... And sort of obviously Ramona didn't go back to Gideon, or else he wouldn't have called. So the big question is where did she go? And apparently she never officially broke up with Gideon so that leaves me to question that at the beginning of Scott and Ramona's relationship was she technically cheating on Gideon??? SOOO Many questions and only one more volume left in the book!

This one was definitely still fun, but didn’t feel like it moved the plot forward as much as the previous four. I know the last one will be spectacular though, so I understand the need for a bit of filler.

This one is probably my least favorite book. I would call it "the one where I kinda don't like Ramona very much". Ramona acts mighty shady in this book, to be fair she is pissed at the overlap between her and Knives...but still.

This could also be the book called "the one where Kim is my favorite". She's actually really sweet in this book. The evil ex twins kidnap her and Scott has to go rescue her. The twins are beating him down, telling him he is a fool for fighting for Ramona when she seems to not care, and wouldn't do the same for him. Kim tells Scott she got a text from Ramona saying she believes in him. This gives Scott the courage to defeat the twins. Cut to Kim's phone showing a blank screen...revealing that she made up the text. :(

Scott goes home to work it out with Ramona, but she leaves.....

Also, is it just me or has the drawing style changed?

This volume seemed to take a darker angle than the first four, but the humor and fun are still there.
