I really liked this book. It had such beautiful portrayals of love and loss, and the amazing bonds between mothers and daughters, and between women. I wasn't a fan of the mysticism and the many appearances of the Moon Lady, which is why it didn't get 5 stars. Highly recommend!

Wow. I loved this book. I'm a big fan of Rebecca Wells' writing and this one did not disappoint. The characters were so detailed and you couldn't help but fall in love with them all. I laughed, I cried, I believed in the moon lady. It's a story about love of family, friends, home. A story about forgiving, loving and embracing all that life has to offer.

Ugh. I need to read a "real" book pretty soon. I loved the YaYa Sisterhood, but her other books are pretty light......

The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder reads like a slow hot Louisiana summer day. Beautiful, and although a little slow, the story is warm and cozy. I enjoyed this book and was glad to see another good book by Rebecca Wells.

Got better after a slow start. Needed some serious editing. Based on the way it ended, I'd say there will be a sequel if this one sells well.

This book was alright, the story had a few interesting twists and turns along the way but after loving the Ya-Ya Sisterhood books, I was disappointed. It is a good summer/travel read- light and not challenging but I didn't love it.

I picked this up at Powell's after reading a positive review of it (somewhere), but wow, what a disappointment. I never really connected with any of the characters (not even the main character, Calla Lily, which was unfortunate since I was stuck with her for many, many pages), and I blame that on the fact that none of them were very well developed. The book is told in the first-person, and I rapidly grew weary of listening to Calla Lily. She used way, way, WAY too many exclamation points. I know, it sounds silly to be put-off by a punctuation mark, but I suggest you search your inbox for a cheesy forward, one filled with !!!! all over the place, and then imagine it as a several hundred page book, and then I'm sure you will understand my weariness. Oh, wait, I wrote that wrong. Then I'm sure you will understand my weariness! ;)

Calla Lily Ponder is the main character and narrator of this story. She is just about the sweetest character I've ever read (but not imperfect), and Rebecca Wells writes about Louisiana life better than any tourist board could! Makes me want some gumbo right quick.
