DNF in chapter 2. I feel so bad for not getting into books about this culture but it just is not for me.

Neutral on this one, as I simply could not get into it. There’s a out of interesting mythology, but I found it a little overwhelming. A few too many turns and returns in the second half. The first half is very strong, but the last act especially felt rushed or overly convoluted.

The story went a bit off track in part 2, but found its way back fairly quickly. Still deciding, if I'd read the sequel.

oh MY GOD??!? the world building. the fleshed-out characters. the gorgeous cover.

when i think of fairytales, the star touched queen will be forever seared on my brain as the perfect example. it is fantasy at its finest with light and dark themes. it is very rare to find a book that has a well thought out plot, extremely likable characters, and writing so beautiful it makes you feel like you are riding dragons amongst the stars. i ADORE this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good fairytale.

not to mention how much i love a story that’s original but inspired by other tales. and the fact that the author has weaved elements of south asian mythology, greek mythology, beauty and the beast and east of the sun, west of the moon - hyperventilating as we speak

side note: i did actually get to converse with the author and she’s just the sweetest soul please read her book ahh
