The rhyming text is upbeat and rhythmic without being too bouncy or forced. I like all the sounds in the text as well:BANGED, CRASH, CLANG CLANG etc...

A cute story about a cat who roams his town looking for a cosy and calm place to sleep and inevitably ends up at the library. Illustrations are a cross between the styles of Axel Scheffer and Bob Graham.

I simply adored this book: the illustrations were fabulous and the text was really great, too. :)

I loved that the text rhymed. (I love children's stories that rhyme, lol.) The illustrations were great fun, too. The story was really neat:
Homer lived in a quiet home with a quiet lady, and when he was startled by a loud noise, he jumped out the window and made his way through the noisy town. Eventually, after some funny-to-me encounters with various noisemakers, he ended up in the library, where he discovered his quiet lady and was joyfully reunited with her. She was reading to the children, who fell in love with Homer, thus giving him the title of Homer, the Library Cat. :)

Given that I love libraries and books, it shouldn't come as a surprise that I just had to check this book out when I saw it on the shelf in my library. I am so happy I did. I loved this story and hope that when my nieces are old enough to read it, that they'll love it, too. :)

Guilty as charged. Totally partial to "library" themed books, especially of the picture book variety.
