Penelope the Red is a fierce and brave dragoness who has no filter, but in modern day times, she’s known simply as Lady Penelope Blackburn, a member of the English nobility. Pen has had a hard time adjusting to modern day times, and most of all, getting over her hatred of Sir George, the mortal man who loved and betrayed her all those years ago. With the help of her assistant and best friend, Olivia, Pen is able to live a normal life. But when two dragons and a blast from the past land on her roof, her world changes drastically. Now, Pen must decide if she can let go of her grudges and take another shot at true love.

Okay, so this was my first time reading anything by J. Thompson… and I adored it!!! This book had almost no angst and was heavy on the laughs and the banter. Pen was a brilliant heroine for many reasons, but I’ll start listing my top three favorite reasons why Pen was fantastic to read about. 1) she’s a dragoness who knows her worth 2) she’s super funny 3) she doesn’t let anyone put her down for any reason. I also loved Olivia, her best friend/live in assistant, and I’m looking forward to her story. As for George, Pen’s love interest, I have to say he’s not what I was expecting! That’s definitely not a bad thing though, I think he’ll surprise you! 5 freaking stars!

This is an engaging short read. This is a paranormal romantic comedy with a second chance, sass, and steam. I had fun reading Penelope and George's story.
