Helpful exercises and good things to think about. Focuses on meditation as a tool to move beyond the heartache. Really enjoyed this book and now I am reading, "How Not to be Afraid of Your Own Life" (also by Susan Piver).

This book was simply insightful and relabeled all the thoughts that I labeled during heartbreak as “crazy” as “normal and human”. I appreciated the votes of confidence and the understanding that healing from heartbreak is like grieving and that one must acknowledge both the emotional and physical responses. I appreciated the explanation of using meditation to help calm the emotions that overpower my mind because it makes it less abstract and more simple and personal. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a reminder that heartbreak is not an easy thing and what one can do to lean into the things we feel as heartbroken Individuals that eventually lead us to have gained wisdom from those powerful feelings.

Really helpful. Gentle, but not enabling. Piver presents heartbreak as an opportunity — “If you acknowledge the dark night and open to it, it will teach you extraordinary lessons about who you are and what your life is about.” I like that she gives philosophy and spirituality but also practical, what to do right-in-this-instant advice. Highly recommended.
