Neat stories but definitely geared towards later elementary school-aged kids. Also, it's more like imaginary travel/travel for when you're an adult.

This beautifully-illustrated book brings the fascinating spots on the planet to young readers. Like the version for adults, the Explorer's Guide showcases places all over the world for their geological features, animal migrations, and human creations. Not only does do the brief articles spark wonder and fascination, but they also inform the reader in different countries and cultures. Great for picking up to flip through, or to read deeply and plan your travels! Note: this review is based on an advanced copy from NetGalley.

Great information, but my kids were not interested in the cutesy graphic art - actual photographs of these fascinating places would have been much more compelling.

Very cool book. I took off one star because although the illustrations are nice I would have preferred real photos. Apparently there's an adult version so I will definitely be checking that out.

If anything will get a child out and exploring it is "The Atlas Obscura Explorer's Guide for the World's most Adventurous Kid". This book is filled with unique destinations all around the world. Each site has a dedicated layout with coordinates, an illustration, and information about why you should see that site. This book is so convincing that the page about Antartica kind of had me reconsidering my winter hater's pledge to never travel there!

I love the Atlas Obscura website so I was thrilled to find this children's book! I would absolutely purchase this book as a gift for a child over any toy. Dreams are priceless, and sites to adventure to are fuel for imagination.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great nonfiction for more browseable nonfiction about the world. It includes fun facts, interesting tourist destinations in each country, and is set up that each spread leads to the next not based on geographical location but in similarities between attractions. Definitely a high interest book for 3rd-8th graders!

Very well done selection of geographical, cultural, architectural and natural facts from around the world, explained succinctly and featuring beautiful and engaging illustrations.

This is a must read for young readers interested in the world, and would also be a very tempting introduction to the peculiarities of the world for any reluctant readers or those who are studying geography.

An illustrated guide to the world's most amazing and crazy places, both natural and man made. The "guide" aspect gives little bits of information about the location, food, history and an obscure fact, which I enjoyed. The illustrations are a bit rough and didn't appeal to me at all unfortunately, which was disappointing since most of the places described are pretty incredible. However I think most kids will find something to interest them in this book, and learn something fun along the way!

Thank you Netgally and Workman Publishing Company for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a review.
