If you have an interest in the Chinese state and how histories and information that is not party approved has spread in the past 70 years, this book does an excellent job of informing about the people and their methods behind the secret histories and protest pamphlets in China.

I learned a lot from this book. And despite the very dark topics, it does have a hopeful message. A realistic, but hopeful one. And I got to read about a whole lot of amazing people.
