This series is really good for advanced young readers- I've been reading several of them a month with the 6 year old I tutor who is reading well above grade level. They are challenging for kids yet not frustrating, and they are colorful and fun and hold their attention. The explanation of vocabulary words reminds me a bit of Lemony Snicket (though also nothing like his work haha but the way new words are defined definitely is similar). And the humor is entertaining for adults (or I am just immature).
