On the one hand, this one tells a complete story in and of itself.
On the other hand, that particular story has some elements that hit me in a personal and negative way. A new character is introduced who was a tomboy when he was going to school with Makoto, then transitioned after graduation, and... there are some comments about him that are, well, what you'd expect of a story like this, but still hurt, as that's almost exactly how I am. Including a bunch of deadnaming. I guess the author deserves credit for trying? But between the cultural divide and the age of the material... I can't feel very good about this one.
