Garden of the Cursed is the story of Marlow's quest to solve a mystery. Her mother went missing over a year ago. Since then, Marlow has taken up work as a cursebreaker while gathering everything she can on her mother. When Adrius, a boy from her past, shows up at her door claiming to be the victim of a compulsion curse, Marlow is thrust back into the privileged world of the city's elite-a life she thought she left behind.

Garden of the Cursed got off to a very slow start for me. I was intrigued by the beginning, but then it lagged. It wasn't until the final third that everything took off. I'm glad I stuck with it because that ending! I don't want to spoil anything but there was twist after twist, turns that I didn't see coming, and action that kept me on the edge of my seat.

I will definitely be reading book two when it comes out. This world is one that I'm not done with yet.

Honestly, I really wanted a lot more from this, but I felt like it fell short. The FMC is a terrible friend, which she happily acknowledges and tries to grow from, but I feel like she acts too much in the know. She knows best, so she'll make the decision based off that. Again, this is something the FMC knows and acknowledges as a fault, it's just frustrating to witness as she goes off and hurts the people around her emotionally.
