Bit difficult for me to get through as it’s very hardcore with back to back science and information - but worth it for the nutritional knowledge and education ! So important to be clued up on the impact of lifestyle and reducing risk of illness. Although it’s quite lengthy, this book breaks complex research down into digestible and easy to understand chunks

I have read a lot of nutrition books and this is one of the most thorough. I listened to the audio book and loved the authors tone and speed of reading. Although I learned a lot and enjoyed it overall, I took points off because I felt as though the author repeatedly ignored key public health concepts that prevent people from eating well. Sure, most people know a diet made up of fruits and veggies will help them live longer, but we know that not many people have access to a healthy diet. I think failing to recognize these concepts is a large oversight, which hurt the book for me

Definitely a beast of a book but thankful to have read it!
In short, it’s a lot of words to say: “eat plant based”. However, the breakdown of the science behind it as it correlates to the top 15 diseases and killers in the US is very interesting! It feels repetitive but the information is top notch. It feels very unbiased and reads like a doctor who genuinely wants to help you and will not gatekeep a thing.
It has changed my view on my eating habits and changed my diet for the better! Very thankful to have this on my shelf and would recommend anyone to read this!

This book changed the way I view nutrition! Dr. Gregor gives the reader the facts straight up. There’s so much misinformation out there about nutrition that it’s hard to know what’s true. Especially when the food industry funds many of the studies we hear about! Thank goodness for experts like Dr. Gregor who care about public health and are willing to stand against the meat, dairy, and junk food industries to tell people the truth.
