I love learning about the production of movies and behind the scenes glimpses. I especially love seeing how an idea starts to take shape and through months and years of experimenting the final product comes to be.
The Making of... books from Disney and Pixar always bring me so much joy and fascination. Seeing how much the artwork changes is such a treat.

The pictures in this were really cool, I just wish it had some more writing and explanations like the other "The Art of" books.

While the book itself is gorgeously laid out (its visual design in particular is probably one of my favorites), I wish that there was more information apart from the introduction and any comments throughout only there to provide context to the art. "Inside Out" is Pixar's most abstract film, so having more production tidbits on character and layout development would have nice to have.
It's a lovely book to look at, especially for fans of the film, but I wish that there was more meat to it.

Pixar is and always has been the biggest gamechanger on the scene. They don't make kids' movies - they make movies that are accessible to kids. That's the thing that sets them apart.
Inside Out is an incredible film. From the first time I saw the trailer I knew it was not a movie I actually wanted to watch. It looked too hard.
I ended up seeing it three times in theatres, and - like anyone living in a house with small children - a billion more times since then. I still cry every time. It is every bit as hard as I first expected it to be. But that's the power of it, that it is so valuable to so many demographics.
This book is a beautiful glimpse into the process of creating Inside Out, and the emotion invested in the art is palpable. It was a labor of love for so many people. I mean, who in their right mind says, "I want to make a feature film about the emotions in a child's head!"?? But this is Pixar, people! They live and breathe mad ideas!
I didn't mean for this to be a paean to Pixar but that's generally what happens when I get on the subject. All I really wanted to say was, this book really touched me and I think if you got your hands on it it would really touch you, too.

Me encanta la película Del Revés, fui al cine a verla y lloré un montón con la historia de lo realista que es.
Otro maravilloso libro de la colección del Arte de Disney/Pixar. Este es de la película Del Revés y es muy bonito. Está lleno de bocetos iniciales, proceso e ilustraciones finales de los personajes y lugares. Es muy curioso ver la evolución del personaje Asco porque cambia mucho hasta llegar a ser como es.
No se lleva 5 estrellas porque cuentan poco de cómo desarrollaron la historia en sí de la película. Pero a cambio tiene muchos más bocetos que otros.
