Like this YA author and this is a good tense, exciting read that boys especially will enjoy. Bit of an obvious twist but doesn't matter, and not sure of the ending (is that really the best option?) but well written characters and a visual sense of the chase on the moors.

Such a boring book. I was surprised when I realised this was written by a woman as they way female characters are spoken about and portrayed is horrendous. One of the main characters saying he understood why it was a patriarchy as woman would swoon at a wink, or saying how a single mother was ’easy’. Also, the writing style was repetitive and boring. The story felt flat.

It took a while to really work out who was who, and how they were linked, but this picked up the pace and ended up very interesting indeed.
Alex was probably the most interesting of the characters as he linked the key elements of the story.
Not ashamed to say I think this is one for the boys!
