Had potential and some parts of the plot intrigued me, but the writing was just so awful it took me out of the story. Characters were professing their love for someone they'd interacted with like 2 times.

After the war in the first book, Gaius rules over all the three kingdoms of Mystica. Cleo is a prisoner in her own palace after losing her sister and father, Jonas is a rebel against Gaius, Lucia is weakened by her massive use of power in helping her father, and Magnus stands by his father, next in line for the throne.

Basically, shit has gotten real and, I gotta say, I liked this book a lot better than the first one.

The first one involved a lot of set up for the rest of the series but was still quite eventful. This was, while not being as eventful, was still more likeable. And that's because:

1. The writing had improved a lot. That was my main issue with the first one. And the writing kept improving throughout the book. Not nearly as awkward.

2. This one was less predictable. While there was no read OMG moment, it did surprise me at times.

3. The lack of plausibility wasn't as transparent. Unlike the first book which was full of stuff that had no given explanation and was far-fetched, this one worked better. Though I still hope the author works on that.

4. It focused on the character. That worked in the book's favour because in the beginning of this book, I didn't like anyone other than Magnus. Now, I'm okay with Cleo and Jonas as well. I like Lysandra and I even have hope for Lucia.

Overall, I liked this book. I still think the series will get better and I have yet it give up hope for a team. If all goes well, I'll get my team of badasses.

great book, not a lot of great characters.
loved jonas in the first one, here i often got annoyed because he is just dumb. maybe a stupid reason but i feel like he always did the same stupid shit with the same stupid result.
cleo is better than in the first one, but i feel like she still hasnt reached her full potential.
lucia is very bland to me. i sort of hope shell be fully evil so at least shell be interesting.
magnus has surprisingly became one of my favorite characters.
this review sounds really negative but the book actually was great lol, im just sort of waiting for some character development in the next book. hopefully i wont end up disappointed. (im still not sure how many stars i should give it, its like 3,5)

Blood is essential in all of this. It must continue to spill. Many will die; many must die for us to succeed. —Melenia

FIVE DEATHS. I've never encountered characters with incredibly short life spans. I'm amazed by Morgan Rhodes's audacity; she is really good at catching her readers off guard. However, I am quite bothered by this utter lack of mercy. Huhu.

It was very easy to read Rebel Spring because of its fast-paced plot and intriguing characters. The world of Mytica was enriched with more political intrigue, magic, and...human blood. Seriously, if I were given the chance to be a fictional character, I would avoid The Falling Kingdoms series like the plague! I value my life too much. xD Speaking of spilled blood, only heaven knows how much I loathed King Gaius. His bloodlust was insatiable! My hatred for him was so strong that it negatively affected my feelings for his children, Magnus and Lucia. Ugh. The Damora family was clearly in dire need of counseling.

Given the abundance of characters, it was only natural that romance would be finally highlighted in this novel. Man, there were so many potential OTPs! Among them, I liked Cleo and Magnus the most. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the budding relationship between Nic and...a particular character. Hush, hush. I do not want to spoil anyone. ;)

To sum up my thoughts and feels, Rebel Spring was such a shocking, delightful, and captivating read. I only wish that the author would tone down the urge to eliminate her dear characters. LOL.

4.5 stars! So many people dying i can't keep up with so much blood my chest hurts even when Aron died .... even tho i wanted to kill him myself!

Rebel spring was not as thrilling as falling kingdoms was, i wouldn't say i'm disappointed but i really loved Jonas and i don't want to see him suffer anymore! Prince Magnus knows the truth, why wouldn't he defend or let Jonas go? I MEAN BITCH HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO YOU!

Prince Magnus gets angry when people tell him he's just like his father, theN WHY THE FUCK DOES HE FOLLOW HIS FATHER'S ORDERS????????? don't get me wrong i LOVE Magnus but he's being a bitch.
