As someone who’s also a high level athlete (all be it volleyball not tennis), I knew that this was going to hit hard. However, I didn’t know it was going to hit this hard. TJR managed to perfectly capture what it is like wanting to be the very best.

Carrie’s character might not have been the most likable to some points in the story, but she felt so real. I understood her and related to her in a way I never had before.

The portrayal of grief was hauntingly realistic and beautiful in its own cruel way.

The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because I wasn’t the biggest fan of the references to real life celebrities. Whereas the other TJR ‘fame’ books did this perfectly, this book kind of didn’t.

However, this book is still one of the better ones I’ve read this year

I loved our FMC, she was such a confident baddie. Not my favorite of TJR’s but certainly entertaining and a good summer read.

I'm not a tennis fan, but really enjoyed this book. I did wish there was more romance and that the book was a little shorter. Yet the writing drew me in and before I knew it I finished reading it. I like how Carrie Soto found joy from playing tennis again.
