I started the Widow's Island Series sometime last year. I loved that the books were short and that I could finish an entire book on my ride home from work. Out of all of the books, this has been one of the ones I enjoyed the least though that could be because it's been some time since I read the series. I will say that there was a little bit of a twist that I wasn't expecting when it came to who the criminal was. Overall, the Widow's Island Series is an enjoyable series that have quick reads with mysteries that are entertaining enough to make long car rides enjoyable.

Fooled Me

This turned out to be one of my favorite books in the series. The pace and suspense was good. The mystery of what happened to the murdered foster kid kept me fully engaged. The initial encounter with the villain threw me off the scent. When the crime was solved, I was surprised by who did it. The tense exchange as they tried to apprehend him had my heart racing. I’m glad that the series continues to get better.

Definitely prefer Tessa's story over Cate's. Finally, a spoonful more of Logan. Must. Have. More. Logan!

This is by far the best book in the series. The perfect amount of mystery, suspense and craziness.

I wish Tessa was smarter. Where are her Seattle PD wits? Where’s her “Big City”
Experience? She’s more like a cop from a town of 100 people,
slow. Thankfully she didn’t ruin the entire book.

Wait until you see who the murderer is, it shocked the heck out of me. I can always count on Melinda Leigh to bring the shock and intrigue.

Entertaining! The novella is not a normal read for me so was curious to see how the format developed. This was a Goodreads giveaway-thank you!
