I have read every book that Jen Wilkin has wrote and she continues to be my favorite Christian author. Her words are surrounded by truth from God’s Word, with her message always pointing directly to how we can glorify God by living the way he commands us to live.
“Ten Words to Live By” takes each of the Ten Commandments (one each chapter) and explains, expands, and extrapolates the meaning behind how it should affect how we live our lives today.

Review: What a way to kick off my reading in 2022! I’ve always been a fan of Wilkin’s writing and Ten Words To Live By just confirmed how she’s able to speak truth, encouragement and conviction in the same breath. So much content packed into a short book and I will be going back through it slowly to digest it all one chapter at a time. The best writing I’ve read on the topic of the Ten Commandments, and written in such a way that it encourages and challenges you at the same time. There are few books that I keep on hand as a resource to pick up at any point, and this book is one of those. What a blessing Jen is to the body of Christ!

Favorite Quote: “We should love the law because we love Jesus, and because Jesus loved the law.”

Thoughtful and challenging meditations on the Ten Commandments, which emphasize obedience at a heart level. Particularly liked the last chapter, on bearing false witness and what it means to respect and not hold contempt for others, even when you don’t agree with them on social media.

Great book - one to read over and over. One that brings the 10 commandments to life and applies them to life in the world today. One that is convicting.

Full of quotes to live by, but here’s one that stood out this morning:
“Nothing beats greater witness to the truth of our invisible God than our visible obedience to his commands.”
