I recently watched 4 hours worth of a YouTube series deep diving the entire canon life of Ashoka Tano from about three years ago and it made me remember I’ve been meaning to read this book since I first saw it in bookstores ages ago. I love Ashoka’s character so much so I’m always happy to have more content of her! Honestly the writing and plot probably isn’t the most well written thing you’ll ever read but I’m just here to have fun and this was fun.

This is definitely a YA novel for young female Star Wars fans, or those who just love Ahsoka. This was also a rough read to push through after the Thrawn books... The complexity & reveals of those books are not present in this one. The plot is okay, minimal. It feels like a shallow exploration of her feelings with some misadventures amidst helping Raada farmers. It doesn't make me want to follow her as a character or read more of this moment in SW history.

What the hell is the grey creature? The description is so vague. Reading through the Wookiepedia page didn't give me much to go on either. Possibly the Sixth brother? Anyways, I gave it a try & I don't think I'll be reading any more of the canon books for awhile. Perhaps I'll return to the Zahn legends though.
