I really enjoyed the writing style but I wondered where the book was going the entire read. I definitely misunderstood and thought the book was a mystery-thriller based on the summary I read about it which was wrong. So I came in with different expectations of what the book would be. It kinda reminded me of “my year of rest and relaxation” so if you liked that book i think you’ll like this one. There’s not a whole lot going on but the authors voice is strong and seductive.

I enjoyed the chaos and the characters. The mental health aspect and relationship of the sisters were interesting and I think portrayed well. I particularly enjoyed reading the perspective of someone dealing with the different forms of addiction and generational trauma. Parts of the book I slowed down reading and had to kind of push through but I liked it overall.
