Pulled from the older fairy books from the turn of the century, the prose has been simplified and geared to a new generation of young readers. In many cases, the stories were often changed to change names, add fairies where they weren't, especially to now blame fairies when the actions of humans went awry, rather than showing how humans are faulty.

It was OK.

The illustrations, however, are great.

Kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel of myths this point. A few bright spots, but while it was exciting that most of the stories weren't ones I'd read before, they were obviously not as popular as more known ones for a reason. A lot of slightly changed up stories made from scraps of other stories ... worth reading for a few of them, though.
