4.0

This collection of poems was fantastic. It embraces both the personal and the universal quests to understand what it means to be who you are. In much poetry there is a disconnect between the poet and the poems, but Hyslop's poetry seems to almost have been torn out from her very heart and soul. The effect is a collection of poems that feel deeply personal, offering the reader the uncomfortable experience of being a voyeur, looking through a keyhole. It is the best kind of poetry.
