I thought this was a well paced novella. If you’re looking for a quick, steamy romance, I recommend this. This is the first Sabrina Sol I read. I picked this up after reading one of her stories in “Amor, Actually”. This definitely won’t be my last.

Second try reading because I have to pause the first time. I wasn’t a fan? The writing was okay, but I couldn’t really care about the characters and their very quick relationship. I guess I wished it would have been longer and so we could have a nicer built up. It wasn’t particularly steamy and it didn’t leave me anything at the end. One night stand oops turns up we have to work together now. It did deal with the power dynamics pretty great. So I will definitely be reading more by the author.

I really enjoyed this little slice of goodness to tide me over until Ms. Sol comes out with her next book. I’d been hoarding this on my kindle for a rainy day, and since I was spending quality time in waiting rooms yesterday, I figured I was ready for an escape. I wasn’t disappointed.

This is a sweet novella with excellent Latinx representation (I can't help but get excited when reading a story that makes me feel seen), and Ms. Sol stays true to that novella length without sacrificing solid character work. Their Firsts (meet/kiss/love scene) were believable and strong enough to allow the reader to believe that Mateo and Vanessa wanted more from each other. That their work is such a valid obstacle towards that romance only made the story stronger, since I always appreciate seeing full professional and personal lives outside of the romance. Now here is where I usually point out the things that I didn’t like, but it was more a case of “I wanted more,” not that I was disappointed in what was on the page. I wanted more scenes of them together. Even the quick resolution managed to still ring true in some good emotional scenes that I could connect with.

This novella is set in the Hotel Arroyo, which I’m hoping means it’s the start of a new series, because I want to check in again and again, for longer visits next time. If you love novellas that give you the full length feels in an itty bitty page count, I think you’ll enjoy this.
