Interesting look at how nature ‘recycles’ however I found the authors personal beliefs to fall flat or contradict to my take on the information given.

Beautiful book that changes the way you think about death and the animal kingdom, the language was absolutely poetic while still informative and scientific and the illustrations are beautiful

This book is by a biologist who describes the myriad ways that nature recycles the dead into new life. Very interesting chapters on dung beetles, vultures and “whale fall.” Some ideas seemed less developed - if I could, I would give this a 3.5, but since I round up, it’s a 4. This book made me want to read about metamorphosis.

I wanted the level of writing of a Jared Diamond, but this book is very rambly and not anything like I wanted. Oh well. On to the next thing!
