I absolutely loved this poly romcom! It’s fun and sexy and I fell head over heels for all three main characters. For an immersive reading experience I recommend having cocktails and snacks nearby. I also loved the Ray & Simone cameo.

Oh my gosh I am so in love with this book. I really resonated with Mel and her relationship anxiety, and I appreciated so much how as Mel grew as a person, she still made mistakes. Poly relationships, and relationships in general, involve a lot of 'learning as you go', and Mel navigated this learning curve in such a real way. Bebe and Kade were incredibly written characters as well. They were so lovely to read about, both in their relationship together and their relationships with Mel. As well as growing through her relationships, it was also wonderful to read about Mel growing through her career. Mel is a bartender, and enters a cocktail creation contest. As she goes through this journey, Mel learns a lot about herself and what she wants out of her career. I absolutely loved watching it happen.

Absolutely fabulous from start to finish! A truly wonderful romance with the perfect splash of genuine emotion. Thank you to the publisher and NG for letting me get at this one early!
TJ Alexander truly never disappoints. This book is not only perfect for readers who are forever seeking to see more queer love on the page but also for all lovers of romance.
Even with a single POV structure you get a true feel for each character individually. This book gives you the space to not only learn to love each of them, but also see the love story for each couple develop and grow in a truly believable way. Every step they take together feels real and meaningful to their love story.
A romance that perfectly toes the line of sweet syrupy fun and the serious emotions that give the plot more weight.
You will find yourself unable to put this book down, forever chasing down the next chapter. Positively aching to find out how it will end for Mel, Bebe, and Kade. Definitely recommend to all!

I received an advance reader copy thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Mel is a bartender working at a high end cocktail bar when she meets BeBe, a beautiful lawyer with whom she clicks, until she learns that BeBe is happily married to her partner Kade.  Still, Mel is intrigued and gets pulled into their social circle expecting only friendship.  Then BeBe tells Mel that she and Kade have an open marriage and she wants to date if Mel is interested.

Mel is has recently divorced her wife, who it seems is her only prior long term partner and who cheated on her.  She is gun shy and not sure how to navigate this new reality.  While Mel is initially only involved with BeBe, it isn't long before Kade expresses their interest in Mel as well.  Rounding out the story is a cocktail competition for which Mel tries to come up with the perfect concoction and a gay BFF/Roommate with his own non-monogamy situation.

What follows is a fun, fluffy poly-amorous romance.  I liked this but didn't love it.  It spent a lot of time educating Mel, and by extension the reader, on the way polyamory works and checking off the romance tropes and checkpoints.  But maybe it's just not for me.

                                                           *netgalley arc*
First read of pride month how fitting! I'm just now realizing that although I've read books with different relationship dynamics I have yet to read a clear fully poly book. Now im not sure if this is the first of its kind, the first in Trad pub or merely the first that ive come across but it's pretty neat. I had a great time reading this! One thing, I would've loved more exploration into the backgrounds and beings of the love interests and also more in-depth exploration of the main characters previous relationship and it's subsequent end. The book seemed to be focused mainly on polyamory and it's exploration which is still a worthy cause and on that front I feel the author delivered. There is no one set way to be queer in whatever capacity and the more representation in mainstream media the better. This was such a fun read I sped right through it. If you're looking for books to add to your pride month tbr definitely check this one out!

Rating: 5/5 stars

I received an ARC of this book in a trade.
This is my first time reading a book about a polyamorous group that was written by someone who openly identifies as queer. And let me tell you, this author did not disappoint. In fact, far from it - I wish I could give 6 stars. This is currently one of my favorite reads of 2024 so far. I don't know if people understand how important GOOD representation of polyamory is, and how hard it is to find. Not only how the dynamics work, but how it's okay to be figuring it out as you go. This book normalizes that sexuality is ever fluid and changing, even in your 30's and later. I definitely recommend this book for the laughs, the hope, and the representation alone.
