Picked this up at the library on an impulse and WOW. So glad I did. The art is beautiful and Jun's journey from traumatized, isolated anger to healing and community is so poignant. I love the anarchist threads woven through this story (street medicine! Food distribution! Mutual aid!) and while I wish the actual plot was a little more fleshed out, the vibes totally carry it so its forgiven.

First off let me say that the art in this is fantastic. I love the character designs, the world building and aesthetics, the color palette ect ect. The action scenes flowed so well and were clear to read and very exciting.
Jun is a compelling character and you really dislike her for a bit, which I think is the point, and you just see more and more as to why she is the way that she is. Character doesn’t have to be likable 100 percent of the time to be a good character.
With the representation of PTSD when it comes to veterans I feel like it also did a pretty good job! Showed that people do tend to be forgotten by the country that they served. People will self medicate to dull pain and people will take advantage of that!
I also love how we see that a strong community helps people in these difficult situations!
Over all its a good read.

Never thought I'd make a comparison like You Were Never Really Here (Lynne Ramsay, 2017) meets Saturn Apartments but here we are. The art is rich with detail but the story (even by the author's admission at the end) is a cursory glance at PTSD and the veteran community. A VA vengence story is a tale as old as time but it only offers easy, rose-colored solutions with zero grip on the reality, so its subject matter comes across as shallow in spite of the lush brushwork that overflows with detail.

Got this graphic novel on a whim (scored it for $13!) and I'm so glad I did end up buying it! I recognised the illustrator from Pinterest and it piqued my interist.
The artwork is absolutely gorgeous as I expexted it would be! It's traditionally done with watercolour and the textures it adds to the spreads is fantastic. The plot is kind of dark, but really well done, especially the character arc!
Great graphic novel, definitely recommend!
