Werewolves are the antagonist in the third book of the aphotic series. You are introduced to Zach and his very precocious 9-year-old daughter Sam. When they meet Jake in the laundry room of their apartment building, she quickly becomes Sam’s sitter. Sam seeming way beyond her years, otherworldly and utterly lovable. Zach goes on a date with Ranier. While on the date they run into a werewolf that Ranier is hunting. Years ago Ranier’s family was murdered by werewolves, she left her daughter and husband to hunt down the pack who killed
her mother, father and sister. Zach becomes involved leading to the whole crew going on the run with Ranier. While on the run not everyone survives. While hunting the pack they run into Theo, from book two. Theo, and the book, work with the survivors to end the pack. Not as gruesome as book two. It will be interesting to see where the next book goes, and what monsters will be fought. Hoping to see more of Sam.
