An utterly gorgeous picture book that poetically demonstrates how we may need to persevere through the hard things in life in order to reach the beauty of the light. Honestly, the achingly beautiful artwork is what drew me to this book (I'll confess that it almost didn't matter to me what the words were when I saw it). Luckily, the lyrical text is wonderful as well. The combination won me over so thoroughly that I had to purchase a copy to keep.
