This was a decent read if you're looking for a popcorn thriller. I foresaw a good amount of what was going to happen, but I felt like it took a different enough direction from the more formulaic thrillers that it gave it a fresher edge.

This probably would have worked better as a short story. There was too much repetition used as filler. No likable people in the story except maybe the policeman Pigalle. Cat and Paul (married) go on a hike in the Swiss Alps with Cat’s sister Ginny and her husband Tristan. So much stupid manipulation and attempted misdirection it was ridiculous. Ginny cheated Cat out of her inheritance, Paul was accused of sexual harassment, Tristan cheats on his marriage even with Cat and Ginny is some stupid influencer….blah, blah, blah. I found it easy to see that the shepherd was French Frank early on, I was surprised that he was used by Cat as well, I am just not sure what the point was except to try to add a mysterious element.
