I can’t remember the last time I read a middle grade graphic novel, this was really fun! I would’ve ADORED this as a kid, I’m loving it now too! These characters are so cute I love them.

This was too much and too little at the same time. I think I might change my mind if I read the other volumes and there was some more time to flesh out the (many) characters, plot points, world building, etc. but I'm also not that compelled to read more. I had to research if I was reading the first volume or a later one, because it felt like we were really dropped in to the middle of the action, and it was hard for me to connect with the characters. Also didn't love the art - I didn't realize until I read other reviews that it wasn't Noelle's illustrations, and it explained why they didn't quite have the charm that hers have for me.
