I liked this overall. I really liked the story building and attention to detail blending fantasy and history. I also liked some of the dynamics within the friend group. I do think that there are a couple characters that I would have liked to see more about that didnt feel as fleshed out as the others. In general, I think the story may have been better if they had been able to make it longer and pace it differently. However, it was still a good story.

This was amazing. I desperately wish there were another 5 books in this series.
This graphic novel centers around a indigenous woman teaching her younger sisters how to use magic and fly 🧹✨ But racism (and the good ol boys club) would love nothing more than for these girls to never have a chance to touch a broom.

This had my heart pounding hoping for the races to go in their favor, the boys to get knocked off their brooms and makes me want to learn more sign language.

This graphic novel has both really good art, and a good and well researched story (I loved the notes at the end about the resources used and choices made, always a plus to see that!).

I really enjoyed seeing the different types of diversity displayed in the story!  But besides all that, it was also just an engaging book, interesting worldbuilding with the magic systems and broom racing and I loved getting to know the characters!

Important: keep going after the acknowledgements, there's more to be had!

I would like to thank Netgalley and Levine Querido for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review!
