This is a fun early chapter book (7 chapters) for 2-3rd grade readers. It follows Frank, a cat whose humans have adopted a new puppy, which Frank vehemently disagrees with. He attempts to make this known, but things keep going wrong for him and right for the puppy, until Frank realizes that all is not lost and maybe the puppy isn't the worst thing in the world. I liked the voice of Frank that came through the story. Recommend for early chapter readers, especially pet lovers, who will get a kick out of the cat vs dog lighthearted battle.

This is a very cute early chapter book about a cat named Frank who has to adapt to a new puppy joining the family. The text is straightforward and simple and it is heavily illustrated with large print making it a great first chapter book for a newly independent reader.
