The married duo, Lars Kepler, know how to craft characters. I’m not sure if the books in the series need to be read in order, but The Sandman could be read as a stand-alone. Joona’s clever mind, Saga’s resilience, and Jurek’s haunting words and presence carry the book along. Plot is 10/10, characters are well crafted and complex. 100% would recommend this series. It has not disappointed me yet!

One of my favorites in the Joona Linna series. Things are starting to make sense.

Will I be reading the next book?
No. I thought the characters were horrible, the story was okay, and it bored me to no end. I finished it because when I realized I was not going to like this, I was already half way so I thought to myself that I gone too far to back down, that I might as well know the end.

I was not shocked nor impressed.

Also, can we stop putting r*pists in position of authority? And IF you really insist on adding this to your storyline, can you not justify their gross actions by 'having incontrollable pulsions'? ACCOUNTABILITY. Thanks.
