Darth Maul goes undercover in the Coruscant Underworld. He teams with master thief Zek Pairo. Once Zek leads them to what they wanted to steal, Maul kills him. He returns to Sidious, and the two of them go to the underground Sith temple as seen in Rebels. There, Maul has a vision and learns that the dark side is completely fueled by rage.

Cool comic. It was cool to get a glimpse into pre-Phantom Menace Maul. One of the coolest characters in all of Star Wars. Definitely liked it.

A short glimpse into Maul's training before TPM. Offers a look at some not so favorable thoughts about the Jedi from Sith but also possibly from other outsiders, as well as the glorification of the Jedi by the general public. Also gives us a look at people not always staying with their order, like Ahsoka.

This book was okay, but doesn’t go really deep on Maul’s character or present any real new information.

A surprisingly good read!
The one-shot included a visit to the Sith temple of Malachor which explains how Darth Maul knew of the temple in Rebels. There were some general comments about the Battle of Malachor as seen as legends though I hope we eventually get an explanation for why Malachor V wasn’t blown up yet the battle is canon.
A very similar format to the first one-shot however handled a lot better.
