Britta has some great shifts with these cut-outs.  The cut-out here goes from the inside looking out of a cave to the outside looking in to a cave.  It works well.  There were a few pages where you could see the writing from the previous page and I wasn't keen on that.

Fine artwork.  The nephew used to love cut-outs.  He would go back and forth with the page figuring out the transition.  Alas, he's no longer that child.  I think he would have enjoyed this book.

I do appreciate Britta Peek-through series.

Sean loves these books! In particular he loves pointing out the brown bear on each page, but he learned so many other animals/sounds he learned too! I also love the message that home has many meanings for different people!

Difficult to understand the cut outs. Does not add to the story.

A bear cub leaves his cave and explores the natural habitats around his home. Peek through pages and colorful pictures capture attention and pull the story along.

One of the weaker of the Peek-Through series.

The story/verses are nothing special and though the illustrations are nice, the peek-through aspect of them only really shone through or had any impact visually on a handful of pages.
