2 "Underwhelming" stars

If you’re looking for a fast-paced, intense and very sexy paranormal romance book, I would say this is a good choice. However, if you’re looking for a well-developed and fascinating paranormal world with details and history, this is most definitely not the book for you.

Also, everything happened very fast and some parts definitely felt quite rushed, so if you don’t enjoy it when the characters get frisky under the bed sheets before the 15% mark (which is something I personally don’t enjoy), then don’t read this.

As for the sexy times, those were great. If you’re in need of some sexy alpha-male-takes-over sex scenes, this book should satisfy your need. Was it the best sex I’ve ever read? No, of course not. But did it do the job? Yes, I would say it did.

Again, as I said before, there wasn’t much development and the story literally started right in the middle of the action (Also, may I add that the explanations to what was actually going on in that scene were never really discussed later on in the story), so of course, it’s quite obvious there was next to no character development. Apart from the characters’ names, I don’t think I know anything about either of them. Actually, I don’t even think I know what the guy looks like. It was that under-developed.

I’ve always struggled with shorter books, because they always make me feel like they’re missing something. When I saw this book on Netgalley and researched some reviews on Goodreads, even though I didn’t like shorter books, I decided to give it a go because there were literally only 5-stars reviews for it and I had never read a book about dragons before, so hey, I was never one to say no to trying new stuff. Sadly, this book did not change my opinion on shorter books… The story could have been so much more detailed, because even though this book is about dragons, even after I’ve read it, I still don’t feel like I’ve learned anything about dragons and how they function in the paranormal world.

But that’s my opinion, I guess you just have to read it, and decide whether it’s something you can enjoy or not.

- I got this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review -

Excellent story

Stella is such an interesting character. This story touches on a different aspect of shifter fiction I think. The information about shifting and mating are really neat tho me.
