I loved this book and everything by Ruth Ozeki- her mixture of current events, internal exploration, mindfulness and bringing the past and present together is really descriptive and beautiful - I love the character development as well and the pacing was perfect

When i say this book is challenging i mean that it was sickening at certain points. it has a wonderfully developed plot written from several perspectives but mostly from the perspectives of the main two characters. it brings to light a lot of challenging truths about the meat industry. if you have issues with gore don’t read. don’t read if you are unsettled by misscarriages and pregnancy related issues . really good read tho i enjoyed it and it moved pretty quickly.
