This was a fun and interesting read. I would say it is a comedy-biography. Here is a quick overview of Lafayette done with the "that was a dumb move" or "And this is what that looks like today" commentary, which often goes through a reader's mind, included. This is not an in-depth, "Let's looks at every part of Lafayette's life" biography but it does a great job at making Lafayette come alive and be filled with personality.

Definitely think this book (re)schooled me in the French contribution to the formation of our nation. Something which for the most part seems to be forgotten in the contemporary era. Great read.

History with a healthy helping of snark. To make the medicine go down. Great for fans of Drunk History. Also Hamilton, although A. Ham himself is rarely spotted.
I could have used an end-ier ending.
