Could have been 5 stars, but cluttered with too many details and side plots about minor characters that didn't aid the storyline. Okay ending but not wholly satisfying, would have liked an epilogue.

I love the story and the writing style. I also really appreciate that when a life altering thing happens to a character, it is actually life altering. Actions and reactions have real consequences for these characters, which is hugely refreshing.

I also love that the different stories seem to breath in a way – they come together, spread apart, come back together, spread apart again, and finally come back together. It makes the story feel more natural and gives more interest for the different perspectives.

I will say that I expected to find out that Tuesday was going to solve her first mystery while solving the main one. I'm both glad and disappointed that she didn't. I think the story works really well the way it was written. But I also would have loved to find out that Abby was actually wrapped up in the greater mystery all along.

I had a very very good time with this book, and I'm excited to read more from this author. I liked the characterizations, I appreciated the backstory, and I could see hanging out with these folks. I felt like the first like 3/4 were slightly stronger than the last quarter, but it felt like an older version of The Westing Game, which I LOVED when I was younger, so that was a very happy little nostalgia.

I have issues with the title. But I can't think of a better one, nor am I the author so I really don't have a say.

Tuesday Mooney is going about her life when an opportunity to solve a mystery comes up. Tuesday is going on an adventure to solve a dying billionaires riddle. The adventure sounds like it's going to be fun....it was not.

The premises was exciting, but we spend 3/4 of the book on other things. Tuesday has friends that want to help, but she immediately ditches them for a man she barely knows. Dax says that Tuesday has "trust issues" yet she is drawn to Archie who she knows is hiding something big. Tuesday also doesn't talk to ghosts. She may talk to one ghost, but she doesn't think she's a real ghost.

This book really gave me everything I want (well almost). A fun competition game that involves running around and solving clues, a cast of characters each with their own very real problems, and a little bit of a ghost/paranormal touch. The thing that kept me from making this a 5 star was just that I wish the ending had wrapped up a little differently for my own personal preferences. I am ALWAYS in search of books with this sort of game/scavenger hunt vibe so I was very happy to find one after so long.

📚 This book is pitched as THE WESTING GAME for adults and it absolutely is. Twisty, clever, funny, and populated with wonderfully unique characters.
📚 Tuesday is fantastic. I love that she leads a full, fulfilling life and is openly happy being single and without children. Her love interest in this story is an intriguing side quest, not the main objective.
📚 This book is also a love letter to Boston, both its history and its modern incarnation.
📚 On top of the wild mystery, this book also gets deep into some serious topics, most of them centering around the costumes we wear to present ourselves to the world every day and how we can break free of them to be our authentic selves.
📚 It dragged a little in the middle, in particular a few chapters where it seemed unlikely that they could take this much time off from the game to deal with other plots and not be overtaken by other players.
