Warning. This book will make you hungry!!!

Reading about a baker isn't the best thing when you're trying to cut down on snacks, but I loved this story.
The dynamics between the two main characters was wonderful and I was completely rooting for them.
Definite recommend.

Jody not a one for settle but finds herself in trun when she needs to be there and do things for the family. A wildfire at best can she do this. The interaction are slow and it builds up through the story which is refreshing to see.
Adam he's not what I liked at frist
His character grew on me though. This is what I noticed through this book people grow in you just like life.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read but very entertaining. I found myself drifting into the story. I was smiling and laughing along with the characters. Jacks really did an amazing job making this book relatable. I highly recommend it.

My heart!

From what I can recall this is my first book by Danielle Jacks and it has me wondering why. While I tend to read 'spicy' romance books this book hit home with the realness that it portrayed. Jody is, as she feels, the family screw up. Honestly, she is a bit of a hot mess, but when her grandmother gets hurt she goes to her. There enters Adam. He is yummy. Their story held me captivated and I wasn't mad about it. It is worth a read if you want a relatable love story.

The Heart of Baker's Bay was the first book I read by Danielle Jacks and I loved it. Its a really cute, clean romance book and I didn't want to put it down. The characters are great, with wonderful realistic personalities, and the chemistry between them is entertaining. The supporting characters are well written too, not just the main two. Jody is stubborn and full of spunk and Adam is like a grumpy old man, but with good reason. The town of Clover Bay sounds wonderful, on the top of a hill, secluded from the rest of the world, but in reality, only a couple hours outside of the city. This book had my emotions on a roller coaster, many times laughing, sometimes in near tears, and then a good happy ending. I highly recommend it, and look forward to reading more by Jacks.

The Heart of Baker Bay is my first book by Danielle Jacks. This small town, slow-building romance was beautifully written with some relatable characters. Jody and Adam bring out the best in one another. Adam is set in his ways (like an old man) and Jody is the spunky girl that brings him out behind his walls. Just FYI, you might want some bakery goodies never by while reading this book!

It is always a treat to find a contemporary romance that seem to focus more on flirting than the steamy. This story of Jody and Adam is refreshing. Jody doesn't have the greatest record of holding jobs. She thinks she is a screwup. Who wouldn't with people like her mom and sister always beating her confidence down. An opportunity arises to help out her injured grandmother at her bakery in Clover Bay. There she meets Adam, a handsome man with baggage just like her. Together they try to overcome odds and build a relationship together. Jody finds her voice in Clover Bay and becomes a stronger person with a purpose to her life. Clover Bay sounds like a town the physically fit might want to visit. What great descriptions such as built into a cliff; steep, no bikes or cars. Terrific book.

I really enjoyed stepping into Clover Bay. A very tight knit community where the only newcomers are tourists.
Jody is a mess. She can’t or won’t keep a job, lives with her sister and is considered the screw up of the family. A call comes that her grandmother has fallen and needs help running her little cafe. Jody goes, with doubts galore. No one every relies on her, she can’t follow through and always drops the ball. Her grandmother believes she will do great. All she must do is take care of customers, clean up, ooohh and bake.
Adam delivers packages for Clover Bay and helps Jody’s grandmother. He was the one to make the call to have a family member come help. His heart has been broken before by an outsider. He holds Jody at arms length but goes out of his way to help to make sure the café runs smoothly, including teaching Jody to bake.
Jody grows up so much, learning to rely on herself and that she doesn’t have to be the family screw-up. Jody and Adam have such a great connection, but can they overcome the roadblocks that just keep popping up? I loved this read. Thank you, Danielle Jacks!!

This was such a lovely story, I absolutely loved it. I was engaged form beginning to end and the authors writing was just beautiful, it was so easy to read. The characters felt so realistic, I honestly felt like I was right there with them. The author made them so likeable and relatable. Adam’s character was really interesting, I wasn’t sure about him to start with but as the story progressed and I began to see him unravel so to speak and I could totally understand why he was the way he was. I really felt for Jody, she was so down about herself. I loved this pair together, I felt like they had a genuine connection and I was rooting for them the whole way through.
I 100% recommend this story, it is beautifully written and was an absolute joy to read.

This is such a sweet story! Its very enjoyable to read. The banter and struggles are fun and realistic. The characters are easy to love. They brought smiles to my face and joy to my heart. Adam seemed so grumpy and sometimes just plain mean. As the story progresses we learn why he is that way and what his struggles are. I love his job..its just down to earth. Jody deems herself a failure…pretty much at life. Her last ditch effort turns out to be the best thing that ever happened to her. Watching Jody and Adam overcome their strife and coming out the other side as better people was a delight.

Secondary characters are just and fun, crazy and different as the two main ones. Gram, Sarah, Hannah heck even the townies make me smile.

One of my favorite things about this authors stories is how she makes everything come together. Even the smallest detail which normally I would just ignore or blow off..she makes it part of the story. I love that! That epilogue just added to the charm of the story. Thank you!
