Lamberson doesn't seem to have an eye for the small details, as there noticeable instances where he seemed to forget what he had written previously. (In the most noticeable case, a character dead character suddenly back to life for a page-long scene. I'll assume the scene was moved for pacing issues and someone just forget to say "hey, change that dead character's name to this living one's." )

But still, I am damn hard-pressed to name a better werewolf story than the Frenzy Cycle. This second volume was less in the horror genre than the first, but it was the natural progression for the story. Hope we get to see some more of certain characters in the third.

Short and sweet review, I know. Pick up this series, if werewolves and secret church societies are your thing, because despite some flaws, you're gonna have a damn good time.
