Decent read

-RH
-trilogy, read in order
-no cheating
-no m/m
-multiple POV
-trilogy starts with a light bully plot

Overall, I enjoyed the series. The reason for the deduction of two stars was because I did find the plot to be pretty predictable. I called every single thing that happened... before it happened. The other reason being I felt like the romance was very surface level. In the first two books there really wasn’t many conversations between the main characters that show us how they could be developing feelings for each other. Yes, they have sex, they’re attracted to each other, and we also hear their thoughts about the other characters, but other than sexual interactions, or when they’re arguing/on a mission, there really isn’t much romantic interaction between them, no depth to their conversations to show them truly getting to know each other on a deeper level. It’s more of a “telling” instead of “showing”. I also felt like the books dragged in a few places and I kept finding myself skim reading to get to the end.
It was neat to read about a succubus as a main character, I did enjoy that.

Overall, it’s a solid, yet predictable read. I don’t regret reading it but it’s definitely not being added to my “read again and again and again” board. I will read other books by this author because she does have a dragon series I LOVED.

  • i made it to book 3, but just couldn’t get myself engaged at all
  • the series had kind of run its course by the end of the second book tbh
  • i’ve read book 1 multiple times because it has tropes i love, but once the slow-burn is over, so is my appeal
  • the author should have just tied the loose ends up at the end of book 2
  • instead the loose ends just unraveled more and more until i no longer gave a shit

A pleasure to the end!

Fantastic all the way to the end!! Lots of action, adventure, and romance. It gets you right in the feels and you won’t be able to put it down.

I loved seeing Liv and her men grow throughout the series. I especially loved the ending and how it brought everyone together.

This 3rd book covers the initial take down of the Order and uncovers all the secrets of who’s leading it and the history of how that came to happen. There could be more books in this series or a spin off series with some of the other characters.

This series overall was great! I have a new favorite writer to add to my library. Congrats to a job well done! I hope you try this series!! Happy reading y’all!

My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️

General Thoughts: And the conclusion. Elizabeth did a good job with this one. She created a compelling memorable secondary set of characters who really filled out this story. In fact, some of the secondary cast may have been my favorites in this one.

This is a compelling, binge-able series. This one had some more plot holes in it, but it was enjoyable. And I can't wait to see what else the author does in this world. (I say that already having read the Hades & Persephone retelling).

Steam Meter: ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Pretty steamy and hot. Menage group sex scenes.

Romantic Tropes
-interconnected spin-off series
-trilogy
-why choose/reverse harem
-bully me
-academy romance
-paranormal/ urban fantasy

a bit cliche, but fun and okayish.

3.5 ⭐️ I didn’t love this as much as the first 2 books, but I still enjoyed it. ❤️

I felt like there wasn’t much chemistry with the FMC and the guys (besides Kassiel & sort of Callan). A lot of this book felt a little forced in terms of closing up loose ends, but it was a little predictable. I feel like there were a few plot holes too.

But overall still liked this series a lot! Books 1 & 2 totally got me out of my reading slump!

Definitely worth it!
